Musical Theatre, Hope for Senegal and a busy weekend

Meagan's class did a project in which they made bracelets to sell to raise money for a group called Hope For Senegal.  The kids made the bracelets initially at their Valentine's Day party, but the other 4th grade classes took it up too.  We enjoyed this farmers market down at 5th and Comal.  There was a lot to do there and once again, we had unseasonably nice weather.  Meagan and her friends (including her good friend Makenzie on the left) walked around with their sign. Eventually they made $270, which pays for at least ten kids to go to school.  

The girls had their musical theatre recital at the Dougherty Arts Center.  Andy's parents and my mom came to see the kids.  Natalie takes the class with 3 of her besties, Inyaa, Chaarvi and Matilda.  It was super cute and 50s themed.  Meagan's older class had a Bye-Bye Birdie theme.  She seemed to really have fun on stage.

These photos got all out of order.  At the farmers market a company that does Lego themed classes had brought a huge ole bag of Legos.  They were just sitting out and the kids were encouraged to play.  They took this very seriously and wouldn't even pose for a picture, as you can see.

After the recital we stopped at the Domain.  Matthew, as always, had to climb on the armadillo that is by Starbucks.

Ha!  One of the blurry ones in the back is Natalie.  Sure hope someone else took some better photos. On another note, I am crossing my fingers that we get STAAR results tomorrow.  Meagan doesn't seem too worried, which I am glad about.
