Goodbye Charli Bear

Charli's health hasn't been the best for a few years.

She had an autoimmune conditioned that sometimes caused some weird things like seizures.

All in all, though, she seemed to be doing well.

The picture with her tongue out was taken the day before we had to put her to sleep.

She wouldn't eat yesterday morning, so we knew something was very wrong.

We took her to the regular vet and they found a mass in her stomach and fluid around her enlarged heart.

We took her to the hospital and they said it is cancer of her heart.

The only thing, the humane thing, to do was to let her go peacefully.

We got to say goodbye which helped.

We cried, but we cuddled and smiled too.

She was a funny dog.

She loved to steal food.

She wanted to be close to us, but not held.

She loved to be outside, whether taking a walk or playing in the water.

We will miss her very much.

We hate 2020.

Quarantine part 4

Matthew ate his fave: Raising Cane’s.

Natalie wanted to make “broken glass candy”, but we had no thermometer. We had to get creative with her laser thermometer for her aquarium.

Winston gave me a kiss and wore Andy’s 1986 T-shirt.

The dogs celebrated July 4th.

The girls got a haircut. The salon really did a good job at keeping us safe.

Nat saw her friend at the park.

Quarantine

Honestly, it’s mind blowing that I’m writing a post about a quarantine, but that’s where we are at. 18,000 people in the country have died, gas is $1.40 a gallon, and I now teach online. The photos are as odd as our lives. The dogs get lots  of attention. I take lots of long walks, and I search everywhere for chicken noodle soup, Natalie’s favorite. I’ve spent tons of time with the family, which is great. I miss my friends and other family very much. Andy and I were supposed to be in Spain right now, but obviously that was cancelled. So, so many cancelled events. We are doing okay. That’s what matters.
