Her Majesty, Natalie

She selected this outfit today for school. Natalie's teachers know us very well, so we went ahead and sent her like this. I knew that they would know that I did not choose this outfit. It consisted of a long sleeve pink shirt, her Daddy's princess tshirt that is borderline too small, a "princess skirt just like Olivia's", black leggings and pink princess shoes. Of course, it was all topped off by a tiara, but that stayed at home. Oh, our crazy little girl.
Matthew continues his happy ways!

Today is Meagan's first soccer practice. I think that she has a game next weekend, but we have yet to get a schedule. She is super excited. Our team, the Barracudas :), had our first major crisis this week. It seems no one was psyched to be the coach of these master athletes. Finally one nice daddy volunteered. It would have been pretty funny if I had coached.

CALL OUT THE NATIONAL GUARD!

There is snow in Austin, there is snow in Austin, so therefore the world must be ending. Well, if you listen to the news, that is what it sounded like. The girls and Paige made this adorable snowman, complete with carrot nose and a hand knitted hat! If you look at Natalie's hands, she is wearing socks because we don't have gloves for the girls. When are they in the cold long enough to have gloves? Today. Notice all of the grass because it took ALL of the snow to make the snowman.

Thoughts on today

Today was my sweet little boy's baby naming. Normally, Jewish families with boys do a bris, but that is not my thing. Today's ceremony was lovely. We had the cantor at Temple Emanuel in Houston bless Matthew and Andy's parents threw a great party. My parents also had a nice dinner the night before for our many family members who came into town from Detroit. I am very blessed in this department; people always say at weddings that two families are coming together, but they don't mean it. In our family, it is really very true. I honestly feel that we have just one big family. I was also happy that some special friends such as Andy's two best friends from high school, my friend Matt, and my wonderful friend Leah were able to be there. I missed my brother and Kaplans, but we all have gotten together for other events recently.
Matthew behaved well during the ceremony. As a whole, so did the girls. They were in seventh heaven playing with their second cousin Emily. They even had a sleepover with her at Sandi and Bob's house. It was Emily's first sleepover and she did great!
I am thirty-five years old today. That is old.

A New Sport, and a smiley bather

Meagan just got her new team for Soccer, the Barracudas. I think this is a very funny name for a U6 soccer team, but that is just me. She got a new ball, cleats, and is waiting for her uniform. I think Daddy is more excited even than Meagan!
Matthew used to hate baths, but now he grins like crazy and giggles.

Valentine's Playdate

Meagan's playdate with Lexi. Lexi brought Meagan her matching outfit as part of her birthday present.

Chinese zodiac Animals
Natalie is a Rooster, meaning The sign of the Rooster indicates a person who is hard-working and definite about their decisions. Roosters are not afraid to speak their minds and can therefore sometimes come across as boastful. They make good restaurant owners and world travelers. Hmmm. Yes, Natalie is very definite in her opinions.

Meagan is a Monkey, Meaning very intelligent, well-liked by everyone, and will have success in any field you choose. Lucky old you. Yes, I see this too. She is well liked and will hopefully be successful!

Matthew is an Ox. born leaders, inspiring confidence in everyone they come into contact with. However, they can be too demanding. Methodical and good with their hands, they make fine surgeons and hairdressers. I can't say I am too sure yet about Matty. It would be fine for himto be either a surgeon or a hairdresser, as long as he is good at it. :)

"Uncle Richie"

My cousin Rich came in to go to the UT/KU game (which we won, big time...Go Jayhawks!) with Andy and a few friends. Everyone had a good time. Meagan even got a mini-guitar lesson. She was very disapointed that "uncle Richie" as she was calling him was not there when she got home.

Fun with Aunt Marilyn and Eric

We were so lucky to have my aunt and cousin in town this weekend. The girls adore their aunt who always comes with fun stuff (art projects with the supplies even!)and liked meeting their cousin for the first time. Andy and I enjoyed the opportunity to see Eric; we hadn't seen him in ten years! Hopefully we can do things like this a little bit more often.

My Sweet girl!

Meagan won the Sommer Stallion Spotlight award today. ANdy, Matthew, Natalie and I headed up to the school so that we could see her get presented. The photo of all of the random kids, she is the one standing up wearing a pink jacket and a Jonas Bros. backpack, of course. She was simply glowing when I saw her afterwards, which was wonderful to see. It has been a rough week for Meagan, with Cedar being out of control, so this was the perfect day for her to win this award.

Thinking

For some reason, it looks to me like Matthew is thinking about something deep here and ready to explain it.
