Getting somewhere

All of the work around the house has been paying off! The top picture is of our new and improved bedroom, and the bottom is of the guest room. We are still waiting on the bedstands, which I am highly anticipating considering trying to turn off the light at night when the lamp is on the ground is a pain!
Meagan is finishing up her last week at Faith Montessori. She is sort of ambivalent about it. Kindergarten is very exciting to her, but she is sad to leave her school that she loves. I am excited for her to try something new. We are very excited though that her dance teacher opened up a new class of Kindergarten- First grade. It is great because she adores Ms. Angela and some of her buddies from Montessori are also going, giving Meagan some stability during the transition.
We are going to Uncle Brian G's house this afternoon. Of course, the one day that we plan on swimming over there it is threatening to rain, but the girls are excited to go regardless. We plan a stop at the new Hey Cupcake airstream that opened on 620!!!

Thankful for the health of my little girls

Today Andy and I, with one last payment of $356.52, celebrate the end of the monthly payments to California Pacific Hospital (trust me, you don't even want to know the total- and that was WITH decent insurance!) Natalie has been seizure free for over 8 months and I am thankful for every single day. Both Andy and I will tell you that it is rare for us to go even one day without us saying, "Natalie! What are you looking at?" because we worry that she is staring off into the distance. I can not explain that panicky feeling and flipping over of my stomach when I think something may be wrong . It is terrifying. I have learned a lot through Natalie's little health crisises, but the most important lesson has been to appreciate my girls.

Are. You. Kidding??? (and my almost 25 week belly)

Finally, after a million years (seemingly!) we are fixing up our house. That involves a ton of painting and replacing carpeting. The new carpeting is coming on Wed, so we have been (or at least andy) moving all of the stuff from the guest room and our master bedroom into the living and dining rooms. The couch pictured is headed to big trash day in a few weeks, but we are turning the living room into an office. The full extent of this mess is not pictured in these photos, as there is a mattress propped up in the hallway, bedsprings in the other hallway, a headboard in the dining room, etc. In a week or so we should have our new bedroom furniture delivered. We are very excited for that! The new paint color in the bedroom can be seen in this lovely photo of my 24 1/2 week belly. Apparently, "Grover" is one hungry baby. I am starving all of the time, but the good news is that besides the issues I have with my leg, I feel great. He moves all of the time, way more than the girlies, so that is constantly reassuring. My next appt. is August 5th for the diabetes check, always a fun appointment. After that, it is every two weeks.

Teddy Bear Picnic rocks!

Everyone had a great time at the Teddy Bear picnic downtown at Symphony Square. I would say, though, that everyone's favorite activity was the facepainting. Natalie and Jackson were the cutest Monkeys that I have ever seen! It was virtually free (50 cents a child!) and there was a good singer there. Of course it was hot, but we went early, so it was doable. It was so much fun!

Playdate with Charlie and Uncle Brian

Been busy

The girls and I have been very busy the last week or so. Brian (Uncle Brian L from CA, as opposed to the other two Uncle Brians!) has been in town since Friday. We have done as much as this crazy heat has allowed, and the extra pair of hands has been awesome. Meagan and Natalie are on break from school (this is Ms. Kumari's yearly vacation week that is much deserved.) We also have gone swimming, to a billion different restaurants, to the ice cream party at the gym (yeah, it is sort of weird that they served full fat Amy's ice cream, but no one was complaining), and playing lots of fun games like Kitchen, Dance School, etc.
Tomorrow is the big Teddy Bear picnic down by the capital downtown. Should have some pictures to post from that soon!
Here is a link to a video of the girls playing at the Domain Friday night in the water fountains. Not the most scintillating stuff, but they are having fun!

I am a mango!

From Babycenter:
How your baby's growing:Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

I love how babies are compared to fruit during the pregnancy. Funny. 23 weeks today!

Happy little monkies!

Natalie managed to spill her water bottle all over herself this morning, but the two of them were in very high spirits this morning. They wanted photos taken, so here they are.
