Cute little family shots
I walked into the bedroom and Matthew had picked up baby Jenny and was cuddling with her. Oh no! I hope that the obsession with Jenny is not going to transfer from sibling to sibling because poor Jenny just doesn't have it in her. She has been washed one too many times.
We went to Baskin Robbins tonight for the 31cent ice cream night. I have the hardest time getting the girls to actually go to sleep so we went before dinner rather than after. The two of them share a room (by choice) and literally play from 7:30-9:00. We try to get them down earlier, but they usually don't fall asleep until then. It is so sweet watching and listening to them interact. Anyway, we didn't want to wait in the very long lines at the ice cream parlor, so an appetizer it was! Special treat...

The new creek in the backyard is...
just about finished! Maybe this means that Andy will longer be living at Home Depot and Hill Country Water Gardens, but never say never. :) He has done a great job with it, as you can see. It looks especially nice at night.

Our weekend
Part of OFMU (Operation Fatten Matthew Up) is having him eat solids. Yesterday he sampled avocado. THat was a big hit! He loved it. As you can see from the photos, he is a happy guy. The photo on the bottom is Andy IN the pond, or the new part of it. He has been working hard to set up a new creek and pond, and it looks really neat. Once they are done, I will show it for real. As those of you who know Andy know, he loves a project, especially an outdoor one.

Matthew's new friend
Matthew has a new buddy named Abigail. She is staying with us for a few weeks while her parents go back to work. Yes, it is crazy at certain times of the day, but it has actually been going very smoothly. Today we took a field trip to my room. We have been hanging out in the movie room. It seems to be their favorite because they can do two very exciting things, watch the fan whirl around and see the stars. In my room the babies watched a little Nick Jr. They seemed to actually look at it a little bit.
Something interesting- I think I see my brother Brian (Uncle Brian L) in Matthew in that top photo. Anyone else?

Operation Fatten Him Up
Matthew had his 6 mo appt and he is really a peanut. I mean, tiny. I am trying my hardest to get him to gain weight. We took out Garrett and Mayme's high chair to get him interested in food at the table. Paige came over today and fed him some cereal and squash. He is making a face here, but he does like it. Any suggestions for getting him to take a bottle are welcomed. I have tried everything. I can't supplemement with formula if he won't take a bottle!

He loves his mommy!
I am enjoying being able to dress him this way while I can. I don't think he will let me dress him this way in middle school.

Lots of work
I am bracefree! Whooo hoo! Unfortunately, I am still in the process of doing more work at my dentist's office, so no pictures yet. I am happy to be done with the braces at least, though. The photo directly above is of andy and his newest project; he is building a stream in the backyard. We already have a pond, but apparently we need a stream too. :)
Natalie has always been hesitant to do schoolwork. I am not sure exactly why, but I do know that as a result of her hypotonia that delayed her walking until she was nearly two, she does not have good fine motor control. The photos here show her writing her name! She was writing it directly below where I wrote it, but this is a huge step for her.

Baseball Season is here
Matthew has both Astros and Cubs outfits. Papa Joe bought this one at Wrigley waaaay before Matthew was born. He seems to like it. Finally he is starting to use his exersaucer. Actually, he seems to love it. He has figured out the little piano on it and keeps on making it sing "Figaro!"

I Love Austin in the Springtime!
Heaven. Seriously, Austin is amazing right now. Granted, I hate Texas in August, but right now there is no place in the world that I would rather be. Maybe Colorado, but I will even say that in the heart of winter because I still miss it there, but that is a whole other post for another time. Anyway, Mr. Joe brought the girls some fun treats yesterday, and the girls spent a lot of time riding bikes today. I know Meagan's helmet is not properly fitting, so no posts about that. If you look carefully next to Nati, there is Jenny in the sidecar! She never goes away....

The demise of my router (or "my panic attack")
Yesterday my internet wouldn't work. I was sent into a rather pathetic mini-panic attack. What would I do without my computer? I realize how dependent I am upon it for virtually everything these days, from checking a phone number to blogging to my ever growing Facebook addiction. I sat on the phone with Time Warner for a long time trying to sort it out, but my dad was the one who figured out that it was the router, not the modem. I went and got a new router today, but of course I had to sit on the phone again with Time Warner for a half hour.
Yesterday was just that sort of day. Being the nice wife that I am :) I took Andy's Xterra in for an oil change and a new battery. They told me it would be an hour, so Matthew and I headed over to Starbucks for a good chocolate chip banana bread (surprisingly good, especially because it was "reduced fat") and hot chocolate (yes, it was 80, but I really like hot chocolate.) We came back ready to head home, but instead we sat there for over an hour more. Good times. I admit, some days I don't have MUCH more important things to do, but I can find something more important than watching the View and Kathy Lee Griffin on the late Today show at Firestone!
Tomorrow the girls are getting their much begged for trip to Chuck E. Cheese. I think I have posted before about how much I despise Chuck E. himself, as well as the crummy restaurant. However, my daughters love the place, so off we go. Luckily we are meeting some friends there, so hopefully it will be less painful.
