Big bummer
My camera is broken! I feel so lost without it. :( The little part that goes over the battery and memory card broke off and now I have to mail it off to Canon. Luckily, it is covered by the warranty.

Almost nine months
Hard as it is to believe, Matthew will be nine months old on Wed. He is such a lovebug, happy all the time unless he is hungry. He is not crawling, but he manages to move himself around somehow. The girls missed him when Matthew and I were in Houston, so he got lots of attention yesterday. We weighed him yesterday and he weighs 20 lbs!

The beach
This weekend we went with Grandma Sandi and Papa Bob to Gavelston. I have been a few times before, and let's just say I was less than impressed. This time it was totally different. The beach was clean and the sand was plentiful. No tarballs either. We stayed at a hotel directly across from the water. We also spent a good amount of time at Moody Gardens, which is a nice resort with an aquarium, rainforest, and a man-made beach. If you are thinking about going I would encourage you to check it out.
But of course, all of us forgot our cameras. Andy does have a few on his Iphone, so maybe I can figure that out soon.

Happy Fourth of July
Every year for a few years Lexi and Jackson have come over for the third of July. Avery Ranch puts on a nice show on the third and it has sort of become a tradition to watch it together.
Natalie's new thing (and there is always a "thing" with Natalie!) is to put her thumbs up when she takes a photo.
Grandma Lois and Papa Joe bought Matthew a new hat, which apparently he likes. Peanut just likes that Matthew tends to have dropped food on him.

I am sitting (and meeting my new friend)
Yes, if you are doing the math, I am 8 months old. We do things slowly in my family and this week I started to sit up.
Today we went over to our friends Alice and Joe's house. Their son and daughter in law were in town from Florida with their son, Mason. Mason and Matthew are a week apart (although they are both on different ends of the spectrum, as you can see, for size.) It was cute watching them observe one another. We should have taken photos earlier because they were both tired by the time that we did take the pictures.
