Funding in Texas

Ok, I know people don't want to read political things in a family blog, but I was absolutely dying laughing when I saw this. Gotta say, this took GUTS to do in the politically correct world of Education! Sanger is near Denton, in north Texas. I want to work there now.

Baby Jenny is BACK part 2

We had pretty much written baby Jenny off as gone, but wonders of wonders...she is back. Every time we think that she has disappeared, she shows up again. The funny thing is that we actually sort of miss the pathetic doll when she is gone. The girls have "decorated" her to the point that she is downright scary, but Natalie truly, 100% adores her. Neither Meagan nor Matthew have had an object that they loved like Baby Jenny, whom she has been carrying everywhere since she was 18 months old.

Week one of school has gone well. Natalie says that she has a best friend already, but just can't quite remember her best friend's name. Sort of hard to invite her over to play :). Meagan loves all of the incentive programs that her teacher has in place, as well as the set routine every day. She is so like me in that way; she really likes structure and guidelines.

We are all ready for the weekend!

First Day continued

Ugh....Blogger being weird again. It wouldn't let me type with the pictures!

The morning went off without a hitch! It was a little hard to get the girls out of bed, but once we did that, all was good. The school did a great job of dismissing kids from the K-1 assembly. All of the parents waited outside and the kids walked by, parade style. When Meagan was in Kinder, all of the parents stood at the front of the cafeteria and pushed and shoved until they could see their kids. Not a good scene.

No tears shed...or at least by the kids.

Super Grover!

I wish that the picture showed it, but this shirt comes complete with a cape. Matthew's pre-birth name, as many people may remember, was Grover, so we like this T-shirt showing Super Grover. Meagan says we should have really named him Grover. Maybe we should have! That way, there wouldn't be more than one Grover in his class when he started school the way that there likely will be for Matthew. Might be hard to find one of those little license plates for bikes with his name on it, though.
