The making of a Grasshopper

Natalie has an assignment due next Friday (yes, I am the dorky mom doing this a week ahead of time) to make a grasshopper.  Each student has a bug to make and research and somehow we got the grasshopper.  It was a team effort, but he is awesome!  The first few are action shots of his creation, and the ones after that are us showing him off.
He is mighty cute, if I say so myself.  And accurate too!!!

A beautiful Spring day for Baseball!

f
Papa Joe, Meagan, and Natalie played with the T-ball set for the first time today. They both liked it a lot!  It is interesting watching them bat.  Meagan is a lefty and Natalie is right-handed.  I think Natalie was sort of afraid that she might injure the ball by hitting it.

The weather had been predicted to be sort of cold, but it was perfect, the type of weather that makes me love Austin so much.  As you can see, Barni and Peanut also had a nice time outside.  Andy and I worked a lot on getting the house ready for our hardwood floors that are being installed tomorrow, but we are not quite there  yet.  We are excited to have them in, though!!!

Spring Break!!! Freedom!!!

Natalie and Matthew were giving Peanut some love this afternoon. Luckily, Matthew is now treating the dogs with more respect and they no longer run away from him in fear.
It is hard to believe that we are in Spring Break already! We went to a fun party at the Big Bounce for Natalie's friend Stacy this morning and now we are doing fun things around the house (if folding laundry counts as fun?!?) We don't have too much planned for the break, but we are having a few playdates and mommy even gets a playdate with Summer. That always makes me happy. Other than that, we are just going to enjoy not having to be anywhere at any certain time. Sometimes that is the best, just hanging out and playing, especially now that Matthew can do more with the girls.
Happy Spring to everyone!
On a side note, Andy and I purchased plane tickets to go to Kansas City on May 4th. To say that I am excited is a big understatement. I am sooooo happy about it. We haven't been to Lawrence in quite a long time and I have a whole list of places that I want to go- Free State, walking through campus, exploring the new look of Mass Street, and eating Yello Sub. :) My extra bonus: our friends April and Jon are there, and since they are pretty much the only people who read my blog, I can tell them here that I CAN'T wait to see them!!!!!

Cedar park outdoor Market and seeing Grandma and Papa

A few weeks ago we went to the Cedar Park center to go to the new market there. It wasn't great, but the kids had fun. There was a petting zoo with the tiniest pink pigs and a balloon lady who charged a fortune.
This past weekend we headed up to Sun City. Andy and my dad put in a new fountain and it looks awesome. Lots of work, but it paid off. Easy for me to say, as I didn't do any of the work. :)
We are still having weirdly nice weather. 80 tomorrow! Usually by this time each winter we have had SOME form of a winter event, but nothing so far.
2 weeks until Spring Break!

Sesame Live

Papa Joe took Matthew to Elmo Live at the Erwin Center down at UT. I was a bit skeptical, but my dad said that Matthew was entralled the whole first half. After that, he got wiggly, so they left. Matthew came home very happy and with a VERY large "Melmo" balloon. He keeps on talking about "Matthew going in Papa's car" and going to the front door. Apparently Papa is way cooler than mommy. :)

Meagan's 8th birthday party!

Yes, my little baby girl born at 10:03 on Wednesday, January 28th, 2004 is now eight years old. There are many extraordinary things about my girl. She is kind, generous, and loving. She is an avid reader and likes many of the books that I did at her age. She adores her sister and brother and treats them with a great deal of patience (most of the time. :)
She had a great birthday party. Some of her best friends were there: Lexi, whom she has been friends with since she was literally 8 months old, Kendall and Vivian, her new friends from the YMCA, Katie, her new friend from religious school, Avery her sidekick from Mrs. Caldwell's class, and Lauren, a friend that she shares with Natalie. Our babysitter did a fabulous job with the "makeovers" and they all looked lovely. They did not sleep too much, but that is okay. Andy and I were just happy that they had a fun time. Grandma and Papa were awesome and helped out with Matthew. Boys and makeovers don't mix...or not so much with Matthew. He so wanted to be a part of it. He got right on in when we did the group photo and snuggled in with Katie when we watched movies.
I know how lucky and amazingly blessed that I am to be Meagan's mommy (as well as my two other munchkins, but that is another post for another day. )

Forgot about this

While watching one of my very talented brother in law Peter's movies, I ran across this:
